Recently I’ve been looking for ways to volunteer. I live in Louisiana, and unfortunately this is one of the top COVID-19 hotspots in the US. The COVID-19 pandemic has me stuck at home, and this presents a good opportunity to do some volunteer work remotely to avoid exposure to the virus.
I started searching the internet for volunteer opportunities and found a few popular websites. Some of these websites are for-profit businesses that connect volunteers to non-profits. I didn’t like the idea of this, so I looked further and found a website that is a non-profit that connects volunteers to non-profits.
When I found the website and started browsing around, I knew I found exactly what I was looking for. This encouraged me to write this blog post about this wonderful website called VolunteerMatch. You sign up and make a profile with your skills and the type of volunteer interests you have. The system then recommends volunteer positions that it thinks would be a good match.
This idea is wonderful, and I encourage anyone looking for remote volunteer work to take a look at this website:
